I have 10 years’ experience of working with children aged 0-19. I have worked in both the NHS and private sector as a paediatric physiotherapist In the NHS I work at Chailey Heritage Clinical Services and previously worked as Physiotherapy Professional lead for East Sussex Childrens intergrated Therapy Service.
I have extensive experience working within special schools and mainstream schools treating and supporting children with additional needs. This includes completing reports to inform Statements of Special Educational Needs.
I have treated children following orthopaedic surgery and work closely with orthopaedic surgeons in an outpatient setting. I have worked with community paediatricians in neurodisability clinics with a focus on assessment and management using Botulinum Toxin. I have also worked at a specialist paediatric acquired brain injury rehabilitation service.
I consult with and teach parents, carers, support and educational staff. I provide packages of physiotherapy care and advise in cases on the past, present and future physiotherapy needs. I can help identify suitable equipment as required and orthotics needs of children. I also provide individual treatments and personalised physiotherapy programmes at the child’s home, nursery, school or college.
I work collaboratively with other professionals and I am used to joint working to reduce the time impact of therapies on the child and families lives.
